It can be quite obvious why a lot of people confuse these products. For example, they both have the same dimensions of 10.4″W x 13.4″D x 13.6″H. This makes them look quite alike. An additional thing they share is the removable 80-ounce reservoir as well as the same temperature and strength control features available. They have some very similar programmability features too. However, they aren’t all the same, the K525 does not have a water filter kit which can be found in the K575.

Aesthetics and design

From the first time you see them you will notice one thing – they look almost identical. You won’t be wrong to notice this. As we said before, they have the same dimensions and this makes it very hard for a person to tell them apart. Additionally, they share the same design too. They have the same aesthetic look, and they even share the same engraved Keurig logo on the same place.

Considering that they have the same dimensions, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they have the same weight too.

Regardless of how similar they look, there is one indisputable fact. Namely, they have an excellent design and they look very classy. After that, you just turn it on and put some cold water in the reservoir. Afterward, you should have your delicious cup of coffee right after you lift the handle, insert the cup and the mug and finally, press the brew-button.

It is a piece of cake, and with this piece of cake, you get a delicious cup of coffee to go along with it. There is almost no difference in the convenience of using and setting up each of these Keurig coffee makers. Both of them have an easy-to-use touchscreen which will make your kitchen look modern and sophisticated too.

Comparing the design of these two Keurigs

The Keurig K575

Talking about the design, we cannot overlook one very obvious fact – both of them look incredibly sophisticated and modern. We all like to get something that looks good to our eye, and luckily, with both of these choices, your kitchen won’t lack any aesthetics. They look very similar to each other which is exactly the reason why a lot of people don’t make any difference between them.

The main difference between them is that Keurig K575 can only be bought in platinum. This means that if you have other needs and preferences, the K475 will probably be a better choice for your aesthetic eye. Of course, both of them offer a touch of traditionalism while being sophisticated at the same time. This is exactly why they look good in almost any kitchen and bar. They aren’t even bulky or too noticeable. In fact, they blend in almost any kitchen interior without any issues and this is exactly what makes them a great choice for the great number of satisfied customers.

Main features of the Keurig K475 and Keurig K575

The most important thing anyone looks for in a coffee brewer is the features. In order for a customer to be satisfied with their purchase, they should always know the features found on the specific product. In fact, a lot of people have check-lists before making a purchase in order to get the best purchase they can.

When we talk about these Keurigs, we have to say that they both offer excellent features considering their price range. Of course, the essential features of each coffee maker is that it should offer good coffee brewing functions. Although it seems simple, the process of coffee making is not an easy one – it takes time and technique. Luckily, this is something you can find in these two coffee makers.

The K475, as well as the K575, have several brew sizes for allowing maximum customer satisfaction. Namely, they offer brews of 4oz, 6 oz, 8 oz, 10 oz, 12 oz, 14 oz, 16 oz, 22 oz, 26 oz and 30 oz.

However, the difference comes when we talk about their water reservoir. The K475 has a water reservoir of 70 oz and the K575 has a larger reservoir of 80oz. In the long run, this feature saves the user some time.

Another difference found in them is their displays. Namely, the K475 has a 2.4″ color touch display, while the K575 has a 2.8″ XL color touch display which is slightly better. Also, the K575 has a customizable wallpaper as well as a night-light which makes it a lot easier to use if you are a night-bird and you don’t want to wake others up by turning on lights when you are in the kitchen.

As a summary of their features, we can say that although both of them share a lot of features, the K575 is slightly better than the K475 because it offers additional features.

Performance and easy of use

Another important aspect of having a satisfied customer is offering a well-performing product. The coffee machines shouldn’t stray away from this quote either. Of course, the reason for this is that the end-result – the cup of coffee is bad, your day will be bad too. So, in order to get a good cup of coffee, you must have a well-performing coffee maker. Both of these coffee makers have well-known performance, and we will talk about it in depth.

The K475 surely makes the brewing process very comfortable for the everyday user. The reason for this is that it offers excellent features. Also, they adjusted the overall functioning of the features too. Although it seems that having a smaller water reservoir would be the determining factor, it is not the case. In fact, although they offer very similar performance, the K475 is slightly better in this situation. The reason for that is that it offers a very easy-to-use touchscreen and an intuitive navigation. This improves the overall satisfaction of the customer and it makes sure that they get a fuss-free cup of coffee.

If you like other beverages at the end of the night, the K475 will prepare some chocolate, tea or hot cocoa as well as other cold beverages. You can even control how hot your drink will turn out. How amazing is that?

On the other hand, the K575 offers excellent sensors and a chance for the user to customize their coffee maker by changing the background wallpaper. It also features a larger water reservoir which saves time for the user.

Settling the Keurig K475 VS K575 debate

Cappucino, macchiato, frappe or hot cocoa – whichever Keurig you choose, you will definitely end up satisfied. We’ve simply decided to go with the K575 since it’s a newer, improved model, according both to us and most customers. They both offer excellent features and performance, and they are durable and reliable too. In the end, you will end up having the best coffee which will improve your whole day. After all, an investment in a better day is always a good investment. This is all I have to say in my Keurig K475 VS K575 arguments.

Keurig K50 VS K55 – What’s really different, and should you care?

Keurig models offer the best, and most convenient coffee brewing experience there is. They will often be the go-to coffee maker for your local bank where you can make yourself a cup while they make you wait. Keurig coffee makers are quite affordable for home use too, and the K50 and K55 can both be available for $100, even. Definitely cheaper than a home espresso machine, which will likely be of much lower quality anyway.

Anyway, when we got to comparing the Keurig K50 and the K55, we took into consideration a few factors, including: coffee quality, convenience, design, usability, durability, and even customer reviews. If you’re not a new coffee machine user, you probably know that other people’s experience with a certain brewer model can make quite a bit of a difference as to whether that is a good investment or not. A cup of coffee is a cup of coffee, after all, but why not get the best one there is?

Without further review, let’s get talking about these two excellent coffee makers. Our overall verdict is in the chart below if you would rather just get this over with. However, if this information doesn’t satisfy you, then please do continue reading.

Difference and similarities between these two Keurig home brewing systems

Okay, so first of all, these are both excellent coffee makers, no doubt about it. The K55 is a newer, upgraded model and is generally supposed to be more durable and convenient, although not everyone would agree with this statement. Regardless, both our and most users’ experience with these two Keurigs is that the K55 is indeed the preferred option. Let’s see why.

The installation process is pretty simple for these brewers: you unbox them, plug them in, put some water and a K-cup in, push the Brew button, and you’re good to go. That’s literally it. There is a user manual with both, but I don’t think you’ll ever need it.

Other than that, f you’ve ever used a Keurig model before, you probably know they there really isn’t much to say about their usability. They have the standard buttons which let you pick the amount of water added, can be programmed to turn on or off at a set time, and have K-cup pods – that’s really about it. One thing about the K55 that the K50 doesn’t offer is the option to use water filters, and the K-Classic comes with two water filters (and a handle).

While Keurig claims that both of these are supposed to brew a cup in under a minute, you can’t know for sure until you see it yourself, which we did. Turns out, that was, in fact, the case with the K55, but not so much with the K50, which took almost a minute and a half. While not much, some people are busier than others, and it can add up.

Convenience of the Keurig K50 and K55 models

Nothing beats Keurig when it comes to convenience though, so as long as you have a K-cup laying around you can brew anything with the push of a button. Just have your water reservoir (and entire brewer, preferably) clean and full with water (that is WATER, not milk or any other liquid), have the K-cup inserted in the middle of the brewer, and pick your poison. If you’ve just started the brewer, make sure you do a “cleansing brew” first before using it – same process, without the K-cup; you just need a little water brewed and out inside a cup.

96 Count Variety K-cups

As for K-cups, there are plenty of options, and tons of tasty ones! I literally prefer a cappuccino from a K-cup rather than an actual cappuccino machine. That might just be me, but there is something about the large variety of options and their affordability that makes these brewers exciting! You can even order these online in large variety packs. Just PLEASE don’t be one of those people who take the lid of the K-cups. Please.

Both of these look pretty sleek, and will likely fit your kitchen as much as any modern-looking appliance would or could.

Color Options
The two color options of the K50 and K55 – jet black and rhubarb

Color options are pretty limited when compared to other Keurig models, and both are available in jet black and rhubarb color, with the K55 also having a full white version. The white definitely isn’t my personal favorite, since it just doesn’t really strike me like the best color for a coffee maker, but that might be just me.

The K55 does have smoother buttons and it feels a bit nicer overall, although the difference isn’t that noticeable. It can make the overall usage experience a little more pleasant though, which, after all, can make a different if you pay attention to details and the small things in life.

Built and durability

I now use the K55 and while it’s too soon to tell, this coffee brewer does feel more durable than the K50. The K55 weights just under 15lbs, compared to the K50’s eight pounds, meaning that it’s overall heavier, while it also feels like it has less plastic. I haven’t taken it apart yet, but the K55 doesn’t have that “plastic” coffee taste that is often mentioned to accompany cups brewed with the K50 in user reviews from around the Internet.

Other than that, both brewers have removable trays, obviously. They also both have the Keurig standard sized water reservoir, which can contain up to 48 ounces of liquid. This is more than enough for a home coffee machine of this class and anything larger would just be overdoing it.

The whole “feeling” of the K55, however, screams higher quality than the K50. It’s often just the small things about it really, but enough to make you wonder why they wouldn’t design the K50 to be (and appear) more durable in the first place.

This is one where the K55 certainly takes the gold home. My K50 used to have this thing when it would turn off all of a sudden. While still a great brewer, and I try not to be much of a drama queen, I would lie if I said that this wasn’t annoying at times, in all honesty. The last thing you want is NOT to have a cup of coffee ready to go when you’re already late to the office for the day. Or if you’re making coffee for a few friends and then one of them doesn’t get a cup. Oops.

While this didn’t happen that often with the Keurig K50 vs the K55, I’m not the only one it has actually happened to. There are multiple online reviews of people claiming the exact same, if not worse. Sometimes it won’t even start back up, so you need to get repaired and all – might just be smarter to get a new one if you cannot be bothered, though. This doesn’t seem to be the case with the K55 and it looks like Keurig has fixed the problem with this model.

K50 vs K55 other features and differences

K55 White Version
K55 White Version

As we already mentioned, the K55 comes with two water filters which you won’t find with the K50, which is a nice perk. Both coffee makers are quite easy to clean and saying that one is better than the other in this area would be foolish. They both can brew cups that are either 6, 8, or 10oz.

It might be important to note that the K50 is a little noisier, so if you would rather avoid hearing your coffee brewing, the K55 stays the better option. I don’t really like the sound of coffee brewers in general (I know, weird me), so the quieter they stay, they better.

Aside from the plastic coffee taste problem with the K50, the K55 can also brew a stronger coffee, if you’re a caffeine junkie like me. You may not want to take advantage of this option if you’re already on your sixth cup for the day, though.

Both brewers have no temperature of pressure control, which is obviously expected from a Keurig machine in this price range. If you’re looking for a coffee maker with temperature control, you might want to check out the Keurig K575 instead – while more expensive, it is a higher-end model that beats both the K50 and K55.

So, should you go with the K50 or K55?

It’s really up to you, but as we’ve already said, the K55 is indeed an upgraded model that has a couple of better options and a few issues fixed. Not many other improvements in terms of design and usability, which may in fact be a good thing. After all, why fix something if there is nothing to fix?

The thing about the K55 is that with all the flaws of the K50 model, it indeed is the coffee lover’s choice. No plastic taste, doesn’t break down in the middle of usage (on multiple occasions), brews a cup slightly faster and looks just a tiny bit better. Look at it as if you were to compare an iPhone X to an iPhone 8s – not a whole lot has changed, but it is the newer model, after all! This should settle the Keurig K50 vs K55 debate 🙂
